Planning Ahead

You forgot your sunglasses, but brought an oversized bag of gear? Don't be that person. Let's plan ahead.

Here's a list detailing how to be prepared and what to bring with you. 

What to Wear

  • Sunscreen

  • Hat or cap with dark lining under brim 

  • Polarized sunglasses (amber or copper)

  • Rain gear, if needed

  • Winter wading:

    • waders

    • thermal base layers

    • waterproof wading jacket

    • Proper wading boots

  • Summer wading:

    • fishing pants

    • long sleeve fishing shirt

    • Proper wading boots

  • Face protection: Buff or other sun & wind protective gear

 

What to Bring

  • Fishing license with a saltwater endorsement. A day, or year’s license, can be purchased at many participating retail stores in Corpus Christi, including Academy Sports and Outdoors. To locate a store near you, visit the TPWD site.

  • Food and water for the day – alcohol is permitted in moderation. For safety reasons, underage drinking and glass bottles are NOT permitted.

  • A cooler to take fish home with you

  • Children under the age of 13 are required to wear a life jacket at all times while aboard the boat. You will be required to bring a life jacket that your child will be comfortable in all day.

  • You may bring artificial lures and light tackle if you prefer. Please keep in mind that boat storage is limited.

  • Rod and reel bait caster setups are not provided. If you prefer this method of angling, please bring a setup that you are comfortable and familiar with.

  • Stringer and bait buckets

  • Artificial lures and tackle

  • Ice and ice chests for food, beverage, and kept fish

  • Live well access for live bait keeping

  • Instruction on technique and approach
